Indian Army hosts iftar parties in J&K

“Hell for enemies and Love for allies, This is what Indian Army implies”.

Proving the above saying, Indian army besides of regular terror attacks and stone pelting incidents in the valley, has hosted iftar parties at different places in J&K. Keeping bonhomie alive and to win back the confidence of the locals, Army has invited people from all stratum of society to local camps where they are treated to a sumptuous iftar dinner. The initiative is also extended to remote and sensitive border areas of J&K to maintain social harmony.

According to the sources, the parties held at various places including Srinagar, Kupwara, Rajouri and Kishtwar. By doing so, Indian Army has kept the tradition of hosting iftar parties in the region to win back the confidence of the locals.

Attended by members of the academia, media and business, the iftar party hosted by the Army at Kilo Force Headquarters in Sharifabad Garrison begins with Magraib Namaz (prayers) and a breaking-fast meal, followed by dinner. These parties are not restricted to the main towns.

Major General AK Singh, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Kilo Force said, “We want to celebrate the core values of our nation, epitomized by unity in diversity, brotherhood and secularism.”

In order to cultivate relations with the local leaders, senior army officers also made an appearance in these parties.

Locals also appreciated the step taken by the Army and seeing it as a positive step to build up social harmony.

Markedly, Jammu and Kashmir has been observing continuous terror attacks as well as unrest in valley since many days. Pakistan is also burning the fuel high by doing unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control.
